His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, sponsored today, Sunday, the launch ceremony of the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Cultural Foundation, held at the event venue in Jeddah, Makkah Region.

Upon his arrival, His Highness was received by a number of foundation representatives and senior officials.

The ceremony commenced with the Saudi national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, and then a visual presentation highlighting the foundation’s journey and objectives.

Following that, His Highness officially inaugurated the foundation and reviewed its strategic goals. Through its initiatives, the foundation seeks to contribute to the cultural movement, promote values and principles, foster innovation and collaborative creativity, and build bridges between cultures.

The foundation serves as an umbrella for the initiatives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region. It aims to ensure their sustainability and preserve the national intellectual heritage, grounded in a comprehensive cultural vision and a strong belief in the role of culture in developing societies and delivering distinguished work rooted in authentic Saudi identity.

The foundation encompasses a number of leading initiatives that support its vision. Among the most prominent is the Arab Poetry Academy, which focuses on developing Arabic poetry, supporting its historical and contemporary studies, and producing specialized reports and cultural events. It also includes the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Award for Arabic Poetry, a prestigious literary award endorsed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, aimed at recognizing excellence in classical Arabic poetry.

Additionally, the foundation features the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Digital Library, an interactive platform that documents His Highness’s literary and intellectual contributions through text, audio, and visual content. Another key initiative is the Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Award for the Arabic Language (Language of the Qur’an), an annual award with a total value reaching one million Saudi riyals, granted across four categories to promote the Arabic language, support efforts to empower it, and celebrate outstanding linguistic initiatives.
